Everything was 10/10, the service was also fantastic, the chefs outdone themselves and waited for us to finish our plates to have the French toast as a mini dessert hehe. The coffee was delicious that we even ordered two more to go. My only thing is I wish the coffees were bigger but other than that loved this place !

Definitely worth a try.

Our servers were Matteo and Moises, who have great personalities, are hard workers and were very attentive to our needs. They were familiar with the menu and kept our glasses filled with water. As busy ad they were, they also took care of the customers just as smoothly with pleasant smiles. I was very impressed.

Our breakfasts were delicious! I ordered Steak n Eggs with avocado. Steak was perfectly done. I shared the steak and the Scrambled Eggs & Parmesan with my daughter. Boy, was that good! We also shared the Maple-candied Bacon, which was a thick bacon slice with maple syrup glaze. The portions are generous there. Yummy! We each had a Gables Cafe with creme which was perfect. For dessert, we shared the French Toast that was generously laced in maple syrup. Wow! So good. What a great brunch!! We also ordered food for home (Tuna Melt sandwich and a Chicken Parmesan for dinner, both were good also). I highly recommend Tina in the Gables for your new brunch place. You won't be disappointed.

There is a parking lot in front of Tina's for your convenience with wheelchair accessiblability.

Tina in the Gables is definitely overhyped for the quality of food I received. I waited about 50 minutes (party of two) just to be seated, and once we finally sat down, we were asked to move to another table to accommodate a larger party. The location is extremely small—yes, it has a home-like feel, but with only three parties being served, it was surprisingly loud inside.

The food did come out quickly. We ordered a grilled cheese ($16), tallow potato ($8), Jojo Matcha ($7), chicken parm ($18), an extra side of tallow potato ($4), and their famous French toast ($18).

Unfortunately, I wasn’t impressed with most of the food.
• My grilled cheese was kind of burnt. Some people like extra crispy, but this felt overdone.
• The chicken parm had a very thin chicken patty, lots of sauce, and not nearly enough cheese.
• The tallow potatoes were only three small pieces, which felt disappointing for the price.

On a positive note, the French toast was pretty great—but still not something I’d go out of my way for.

I’ll definitely come back here again the next time I visit Miami.

They are part of the same group that owns Miami Slice and La Latina restaurants.

I showed up for a Sunday brunch and my name was added to the 1+ hour waiting list right away. I walked to the nearby Merrick Shops while I waited for my table. It took about the time I was advised when added my name to the list (~ 1 hour).

The restaurant itself is sort of a hole in the wall, cozy, like you were at home. It has about 8 tables total and a small counter with ~ 6 high chairs. While I like the ambiance, it is almost impossible to dine in there, it’s extremely loud. I know we Cubans talk loud, but that was loud to another level.

As for the food, I’m not amazed to be honest. I had the sunny side duck ($25) and the BLT sandwich ($17). Nothing you can’t do at home for a fraction of the price and with the very same quality. I mean it was good, just that not for that price. It’s criollo food after all.

I also had a flat white and OJ($6). The flat white was just flat. The OJ, I asked if it was fresh squeezed which the server advised it was. It turned it was from concentrate orange juice that was light yellow in color, like those from a carton. There is nothing wrong serving that type of juice, the problem is when you lie. The server asked if everything was good during checking out, I brought the juice issue to his attention, and he dodged it with “I will let them know”.

All in all, I would like to give them another chance, perhaps in a weekday when it is less crowded.

I do think they’re a little heavy handed with the salt but other than that, everything is really good.

The bathroom should you need to use it is down the hallway in the kitchen, which is amazing in itself that they allow guests literally into their kitchen.

Be kind here. Don’t be loud. Enjoy some of the best brunch in Miami.
