If you are looking for a neighborhood sushi bar with genuine charm, this is the place! 😊
From the moment you walk in, the service is incredibly fast, polite, and welcoming. You can tell the owner truly cares about the restaurant and the guests, which gives the whole spot such a warm and inviting vibe.
The fish is fresh, and everything we ordered was delicious. On top of the amazing quality, the prices are very reasonable for Coral Gables.
It’s easily our new go-to spot. Highly recommend!

This is the kind of independently owned neighborhood gems that are slowly disappearing and increasing being taken over by expensive Mexican / Italian /instagram restaurants owned by chains.
Despite being a casual spot, the ambience is vibrant. It’s families, couples, and local folks dropping in for dinner. The menu is well curated with a large selection of specials every night. The price is reasonable for quality food that’s cooked well without any bells and whistles. I loved their grilled sea bream special last night and their Kaisen Don is my go-to.
Last but not least, their service is excellent!
I can’t say enough good things about this place, and hope everyone living in the gables area would try this place at least once! My husband and I went there for the first time 2 weeks ago and we’d been looking forward to returning. Last night we were so full after dinning there, we had to take an extra 15min walk afterwards before we headed home.

Excellent experience. The sushi was outstanding—fresh, well-executed, and honestly perfect. The beer was ice cold, the atmosphere was great, and the service was noticeably better than what you often get at similar casual Asian spots. Highly recommend.

Authentic, tasteful, legitimate, just fantastic. Tuna Tataki is out of this world. Rising Sun & Freshman rolls are special. The Ramen is serious business too. Probably the top sushi place in Miami.

I had a really enjoyable experience at Su Shin Izakaya. The place has a cozy, modern feel with that casual Japanese izakaya vibe that makes it easy to relax and enjoy the night. It’s not overly formal, which makes it perfect for a laid-back dinner or drinks with friends.
The food was very good across the board. The sushi tasted fresh and well prepared, and the hot dishes were full of flavor. You can tell they pay attention to the details, from presentation to taste. It’s one of those places where you end up ordering a few extra items just to try more of the menu. Portions were fair, and everything came out at a good pace.
The drinks also stood out. Whether it’s sake, beer, or cocktails, there’s a solid selection that pairs well with the food. It adds to the whole experience and makes it a great spot to hang out for a while.
Service was friendly and attentive without being too much. The staff checked in regularly and made sure everything was going smoothly, which made the visit feel easy and comfortable.
If you’re in Coral Gables and looking for a relaxed spot with good Japanese food and a nice atmosphere, this is definitely worth checking out.

The sushi and udon were amazing! The service was fast even on a busy Friday night when the restaurant was at capacity. The staff was very friendly and the dishes were so tasty. Definitely will come back again next time I'm in town!

I had a difficult time finding authentic Japanese restaurants in Miami, but this place was amazing. Food was as close to home as it could get, the atmosphere was lively and popping, the service was quick. Overall great experience. Would love to come here again.

Izakaya is always a great place for dinner. The food is very originally japanese, the most authentic one we have had in any of the nearby sushi places. Food is always tasty and at a very reasonable price. You must try if you're in the area.
We ate Enoki butter, great for mushroom lovers, Deluxe Bagel.roll and Okonomiyaki, a traditional Japanese dish which is absolutely delicious. Will come again and again and again.

France is truly one of the best servers I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting! Every time we come in, she greets us with the warmest smile and makes us feel like family. She always goes above and beyond—whether it’s remembering our favorite dishes, checking in to make sure everything is perfect, or just sharing a friendly conversation that makes our day brighter. Her kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care make every dining experience special. The food is amazing, but France is a big part of why we keep coming back. Thank you for making every visit so wonderful!

Excellent Japanese restaurant with a rotation of specials you don’t see anywhere else. I’ve been coming here for at least 15 years and the service is always great. Will continue enjoying this place.

This place is an authentic hidden gem located in the heart of Coral Gables. My partner introduced it to me a couple years ago and we have quickly become regulars. As a local, Su Shin Izakaya has easily become one of my favorite restaurants to frequent, by far the best Japanese cuisine in Miami. The staff fosters a warm environment, welcoming their guests as family. I always order the chicken teri donburi and it never ceases to satisfy. A great place for both sushi lovers and picky eaters alike!

Came in for dinner and immediately liked the vibe. It's pretty modern, with touches of traditional Japanese style. I started with a hot sake, which was the perfect temp, not so scalding that I had to let it sit for minutes like at some places. Then I had some edamame, snappy and crunchy with just the right amount of Kosher salt. I got hamachi and salmon sashimi, both excellent, the salmon especially had a nice buttery finish and didn't taste "fishy" at all. Had to get a spicy tuna roll, no visit to a sushi spot is complete with out that, and it was very good. One thing I'm theirs that I don't normally see is a little scallion mixed in and in here for it! The last thing to come out was something I'd never tried before, fried eggplant. It is sliced in half, scored, then fried flesh side down so it's got a nice exterior with a warm soft interior. This was in a down days off since kind that was just a little bit sweet. It was amazing!! Definitely a sharing dish, I could only eat like half of it by myself. Everything was reasonably priced and service was attentive and quick. I'll definitely be coming back!

My wife and I lived in Japan for over 10 years, so if we’re talking about authentic Japanese food, this is as good as it gets in Miami. Most folks are happy to try out their sushi, we haven’t even gone that far yet, we are so happy with their teishoku (bento box) meals, along with items from their chalkboard menu.
Tried their saba shioyaki (mackerel), tonkatsu (pork cutlets), chicken teriyaki - all fantastic. Salad with miso dressing is top notch. We love their friendly servers and cozy feel of the place. The only challenge is in finding parking nearby on Friday and Saturday nights. Highly recommend!

In a city filled with overpriced and mediocre restaurants, this place is a gem. I’ve been coming here for a couple of years and I’m often the first one to arrive. (As you can see in the photo. I’m the unofficial VIP here.) Anyway, the vibe here is equivalent to hanging out at your rare, reliable friend’s house. Unpretentious, authentic Japanese food. I love how they say, “See you tomorrow,” when you leave because I will in fact be back tomorrow for my Hamachi sushi.

Solid lunch. Rolls were great, and so was the gyoza. The matcha cheesecake that is fried is perhaps one of the best I’ve had.

Very authentic and delicious food! I will say as a vegetarian it was kind of hard to find items to eat but they did their best to accommodate us. We were still able to get a good set of food. Super sweet staff and super good food! Overall amazing and definitely would recommend!
