I came all the way from Maryland to try this place out based on a YouTube recommendation. It did not disappoint. The food was amazing, creative and flavorful. The staff was super friendly and the ambiance was exactly what I was looking for! I felt like I was back in Greece, in the Homeland! As a Greek, I am very picky about Greek restaurants in the USA and this one absolutely makes all of us Greeks proud!

My wife and I recently visited your restaurant for the first time. We ordered the branzino lunch special, which was served with beets.
We were very impressed with the meal; the portion size was generous and the flavors were excellent. We also found it to be a great value at $35.00.

Loved this place! The food was amazing I had the chicken kebab and lemon and potatoes. Both were spectacular and flavorful! Greek salad was great I had several servings! My hubby had the Makoussa and he loved his meal!

Calista Greek Taverna: Pleasant, Polished, and Passing
Calista Greek Taverna presents itself as a modern Greek escape—bright, coastal, and unfussy. The room is airy and comfortable, with a lively but controlled energy that suits Coral Gables well, making it an easy choice for a casual night out or an efficient prix fixe meal.
The Greek spreads were the highlight: tzatziki cool and balanced, skordalia assertively garlicky with a pleasing nuttiness, and melitzanosalata smoky and smooth, all well matched with warm pita. A Greek salad, though fresh, arrived undersized. For mains, branzino was simply prepared and clean-tasting, while grilled salmon leaned safe but competently executed. Dessert—Greek yogurt with sour cherry preserves—was gently tangy and refreshing, ending the meal on a restrained note.
Service was attentive without hovering, paced for conversation rather than ceremony. Calista doesn’t push boundaries, but it doesn’t stumble either. It’s a reliable stop—pleasant, efficient, and familiar—worth revisiting for a quick, well-run meal, though not a place that demands a return pilgrimage.

My birthday lunch was made even more special by the food and wonderful service. There was no Moussaka available, but we went with the appetizers. Portions are large. Saganaki (fried cheese) was surprisingly tasty. The Keftedes (meatballs) were delicious. The Greek salad was fresh and a portion large enough for three. The only disappointment was the calamari. We found it dry and chewy. I would avoid it. They offered us dessert on the house to make up for it. A shout out to Stefanos and Gabriel. They were the best. Great service like theirs is why eating out is a pleasure. A wonderful birthday indeed

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Calista Greek – Coral Gables
We had an amazing first experience at Calista Greek in Coral Gables! We sat outside, and the atmosphere alone made the evening special — a beautiful night, perfect for dining al fresco.
To start, we shared the Greek Salad, and it was absolutely delicious — fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor. For our entrées, my wife ordered the Moussaka and I went with the Chicken Kebab. Both dishes were outstanding! The portions were generous (so generous we ended up taking food home), and everything tasted authentic and perfectly seasoned.
This was our first visit, but definitely not our last. Next time we’re in the Gables, we’re absolutely coming back to Calista. Highly recommend!

Calista is still the best, most authentic greek restaurant in Miami. Greek decor, Greek music, authentic greek food, mostly Greek staff and greek owners. The food is delicious and if for some reason you don’t like it they, without questions, will bring you anything else you choose. The prices are extremely reasonable, which is worth mentioning since most restaurants in Miami have gone through the roof in the past couple if years.The owners are very hands on and always there talking and engaging with customers. Don’t let the couple bad reviews from the Karens in here deter you from going. I say go experience it for yourself.

A little piece of Greece in the heart of Coral Gables brings back memories of places like Santorini, Mykonos, Spetses, Corfu, or Athens. The atmosphere, together with the aromatic and flavorful Greek olive oil, transports you to those cherished moments. The staff, being Greek themselves, add that authentic island-by-the-sea feeling. The food was absolutely divine—the octopus was exquisite, the salad so fresh, the lamb chops perfectly prepared, and the baklava simply delicious. Thank you for such a beautiful place that truly lives up to its name—Calista means beauty, and this restaurant certainly is. Without a doubt, I highly recommend it and will be back soon!

Is a cozy restaurant and serving delicious food, the portions are realistic big. They have very warm inside seating feeling that you are in Greece, and outdoor too. We ordered some dishes and they were top top 🔝!

The highlight was the seafood pasta; the flavor was highly appreciated. The service and staff are friendly and always check in on the table. The atmosphere is terrific; at Giralda Plaza, it has everything!
Appetizer: I love the spicy fetta and pita bread.
Dessert: The vanilla cream pudding is delicious!

Possible the best greek food in Miami, very authentic, very fresh fish and the appetizers are amazing. All the spreads are delicious and with the pita get ready for a great experience. Restaurant is small but very cute

The best Greek restaurant in town, serving deliciously fresh Mediterranean dishes. I come here all the time because the food is healthy, they have a nice wine selection, and they always have some new item on the menu. My favorite fish to eat here is the Pink Snapper, not many other restaurants serve this Mediterranean fish. However, the branzino, the lamb, the moussaka, and the meatballs are also divine. Order several appetizers to share and enjoy the ambiance of their large yet cozy outdoor terrace. The service is friendly and welcoming and they are generous with complimentary dessert for everyone. The location is another plus because you can enjoy a walk after dinner or a drink at one of many nearby bars.

Really nice environment. Great for family and friends gatherings. Whole fish was very fresh. We also got complimentary greek yogurt and philo for dessert. Yogurt was extra thick and creamy. Philo was light and tasty 😋highly recommend this place!

I was really looking forward to dining at Calista, especially since I was introducing my in-laws to Greek cuisine for the first time. Unfortunately, the experience was a big letdown.
The service was extremely slow, and when we asked about the delay, we were told it was because a large party — friends of the owner — was being prioritized. When our food finally came out, my shrimp was cold. I sent it back, only to receive the same shrimp, just thrown back on the grill and burned.
No manager ever came out to address the issue. A staff member named Oni said he was the manager, but he admitted he couldn’t do anything except promise to “take care of us next time.” There won’t be a next time.
Beyond the service, the food didn’t taste authentic — which was especially disappointing as I was hoping to share a real Greek dining experience with my family. Sadly, this visit missed the mark in every way.
I won’t be recommending this restaurant.

Nice Authentic Greek Restaurant in the heart of The Gables, Giralda Street the pedestrian zone. Nice big outdoor seating area but cozy inside space as well with bar and fish counter. Service was great and the food was excellent, taste as well as display. Only thing I would recommend is to offer half portions for the salads which were huge and most times its just nice to have a small side plate of salad with your meal.

I went for a birthday dinner, we were there from 6PM to 9PM. The restaurant is very cute and homey, the color palette of the places is light colors mainly blue and white. It gives off cozy with a great atmosphere , the inside seating area is a little snug . I would recommend outside seating to big groups or making reservations if you’re a group of 6+.
The service was not what I would expect for a restaurant in the gables, they weren’t as attentive. We had to constantly wave down the waiter when ordering, and even when we had the opportunity to place our orders RECEIVING what was ordered was not guaranteed. I order a sweet white wine which was never delivered and the waiter did not bring up until it was time to pay the bill. When the food was served, is when they decided to inform us that various of the sides that we had ordered weren’t available. Throughout our entire dine-in experience our waiter never passed by to refill our waters and when we requested water they still didn’t bring it.
The food in itself was delicious but the lemon potatoes were just a tad bit over cooked and personally were too lemony. We ordered a plate of calamari which was absolutely delicious, they did a fantastic job on frying it.

The atmosphere is nice, especially outside. The service was nice and quite attentive. I have to say that there were a lot of products missing. I like places where the waiter asks me if I ordered more than I should have, which he didn't give a damn about, it was a lot of food.
The food was good, but somewhat common, nothing special. Some gratin clams that we ordered seemed like frozen food.
